When Iranian girls turn nine they celebrate their coming of age. This festivity, known as the ' Jashne Taklif', is organized at school in the year the girls turn nine. They become muslim women and -officialy- have to pray, wear a scarf and refrain from shaking hands with men.
Romina and her classmates are excited for the event. First they have to pray for the first time, wearing the official chador, an Islamic garment which covers everything but the face. After that they wear wings on their shoulders, and they are called ' angels' , since they turned into women.
